ODEAN SOCIAL AKA GO BACK TO SCHOOL

THE MOST IMPRESSIVE OUTLET YET !

While talking about all the chains of this chiller place, Odean Social is a big deal with a fabulous theme which shall take everyone back to school where homework and punishment is nowhere in the picture. It is the best which blends office work with cafe recreating nostalgia.

The supper served has a distinguished style of presentation such as food served in tiffin boxes and old style hard steel/iron plates.

We started the night by ordering -

"Grilled Chicken Peri Peri"  If a sizzle in the air accompanied by a sneeze-inducing burnt aroma does the trick for you, then you my friend are a sizzler devotee. A palatable picturesque arrangement of blazing hot grilled chicken served on a sweltering plate was juicy, tender and delicious. Along with a bed of rice which was tossed in a creamy ans spicy gravy with kidney beans or rajma and corns, had a nutty flavour throughout. Glazed with crispy french fries and barbecued veggies was succulent and sumptuous. A great meal to start with.

Shake -

We tasted "Ferrero Rocher Shake"  The Ferrero Rocher Shake had a lot of chocolaty elements and the whipped cream was sweet enough to turn the bitter chocolate better.

Moving on we ordered one of dishes which was newly introduced on the Social Menu-

Social's first ever vegetarian burger "#OnPublicDemand"  The indulgence of paneer mattar patty with tomato, cucumber and onions and other condiments along with ice berg lettuce and cheese slices was super juicy.  Masala fries were deep fried and had the perfect crunch. The Achaari Mayo as the dip was delicious.

Next we tried -

"Tikka Tacos"  The wheat tortilla wrapped in juicy chicken tikka with tandoori salad and mint chutney was spectacular. Tacos were nice and soft. It married well with the garlic aioli leaving us moriesh.

DESSERT -

Last but not the least, we tried "Chocolate Blood Bath"  Ever wonder how chocolate blood bath would be like ?  Paradise under the cloche ! The medley of chocolate cake, chocolate brownie, chocolate truffle, gooey chocolate fudge, chocolate ice cream, chocolate mousse, white & dark chocolate sauce. Too much chocolate happening in the same tub. As they say R.I.P *smirk*

Odean Social is full of life and far most the impeccable addition to the expanding Social culture. On weekends, it is tough to find seats so we recommend each and everyone to make prior reservations. Exalted crowd, piquant food and sensual music. Odean Social has stolen many heart since its inception.

ECHOES - EAT ENGAGE ENERGIZE

I read a very prudent statement once :
"Listen with your eyes, talk with your hands"

Themed around the concept of " motivation", Echoes has supported a truly constructive initiative by employing all the staff who are differently able such as Deaf and Mute. It has switches at every table and when you toggle the switch, it lights up a bulb and alerts the waiter that you need him at the table.
Cue cards at every table reads "Water Please" "Call the Manager" "Bill Please" etc. which makes communication with the management efficient.

Echoes has a variety of dishes which are specialized with individual codes. With regular fare of pastas and nachos and oreo shakes, this time we resolute for all the chef specials *grinning*

Entree -

We first ordered "Mexican Cowboy Cone (Non-veg)"   Purely made with pita bread shaped in a conical structure which was stuffed with chicken, corns and mayo. The filling had a strong taste of mayonnaise but the pita cone was doughy and hard to chew. All in all, it was just average.

Later we ordered "Cheesy Mushroom Cigar Rolls"  Such an exquisite crispy and flaky pastry rolls, overflowing with correctly cooked mushroom and cheese. Garnished with fresh coriander and garlic mayonnaise along with sweet and chili vinaigrette was mawkish. Is this something I'd ordered again ? Ooh boy,  I'd love to eat such light spring rolls everyday *Yumm*

Shake-

The most fascinating shake we had "Brownie Shake"  Blended the brownie till the stage where it had crumbs which could be chewed and all the chocolatey flavour of the brownie did the spellbinding magic to the taste buds. It is highly recommended *slurping*

Main-

At last, we end up trying "Paneer Makhni"  Thin crust pizza base is a trend and Echoes serve ultra slim crust base, as crispy and thin as chips. That's the closet I could relate. Topped with 3 cheese ;  cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan along the mild gravy of the paneer makhni and freshly cut cubes of paneer. The pizza was not one of the best we've ever had but it was simple food cooked with love and all that came straight from their heart *thumbsup*

In the far corner of the bustling Satyaniketan Market, is Echoes - a bijou, inconspicuous cafe which will touch your soul and pronounce warmth in all the eye contacts, signs and smiles :')

We bet, you ought not find as serene a place as ECHOES in the midst of all the hustle and bustle of the city.  To have a meal served and cooked by the vulnerable people who put all their love and empathy in your meal is absolutely not a skill which can be taught easily.

SUPERHERO CAFE, A TRUE TREASURE...

SuperHero Cafe should be a must visit for Marvel and DC World fans

Being a die hard fan of Batman and Superman, I was awestruck the moment I stepped inside this small and cozy Cafe.
The interiors were decorated and executed so brilliantly that at one moment of time we thought we are actually eating food with our favourite superhero.

If we talk about ideas and innovation of memorable dishes this cafe is BANG ON !!

We started our day by ordering "Let's Go Messy"   Oh my my.. We loved it. Basically, it was a sophisticated plate of Honey Chili Potatoes. Yum at very mouthful. Crispy fried potatoes which is tossed in chili sauce and drizzled with plentiful amount of honey had a crunchy texture and was beautifully balanced. The spring onions added more crisp and crunch to this picturesque plate of potatoes.

Moving on, we ordered -

"BBQ Chicken Pizza"   With every bite, we could hear the crackling noise of the base of pizza. It was very crispy and gladly not burnt. The chicken chunks were marinated in BBQ sauce and married well the thick layer of parmesan. The extra- hard parmesan was gooey and delectable.

"Hazelnut  Nutella Super Shake"  Nutella is the sweetened hazelnut cocoa spread so without a doubt the combination of hazelnut and nutella blended perfectly. We all love nutella and know, if added to anything it'll lift the notch up *Chocolaticious*

DESSERT TIME !!

Lastly, we ordered the most intriguing name on the menu "Chocolate Samosa"  Which sane man can possibly think of engulfing molten chocolate inside a samosa ? Interesting, both visually and flavour wise. It is a pure sin of overloaded molten chocolate as a filling and as a dip. The amalgamation of these two distinct things was appetizing.

SuperHero Cafe, must be a tiny cute little eatery situated in the lanes of North Delhi but it meets the exact same quality of any 5 star restaurant in Delhi/NCR. The food here is comforting and sumptuous. And when in doubt about what to order, the staff is there to help you choose the right food as per your desire. Every one should once visit this comical cafe and unload all their stress and have a great time with super heroes and the super tasty food.

PARA PARA PARADISE, FOR EVERY COLLEGE STUDENT - BIG YELLOW DOOR !!

This place needs no introduction *drumsrolling*

Big Yellow Door, since inception has been the best-loved restaurant amid students from various colleges of Delhi, mostly DU. I can pen down reasons for its popularity:
  • Pocket Friendly
  • Pocket Friendly
  • And.. Pocket Friendly

This is an awesome tiny little place with quirky interiors appealing the eyes. You shall never find a peaceful atmosphere at BYD as gossiping and chattering is the motive of every student and we all love doing it.

Moving on to food, primarily it is well known for their nachos; two-ways, shakes and pasta.
Hurrayy !! We tried it all *Claps*

At first we ordered "Nachos + Salsa"  and "Nachos Baked Dish". Both of them might sound the same to a few but in literal means had different flavours and texture.

Nachos + Salsa was the authentic palate of crispy nacho chips, perfectly seasoned and served with basic salsa dip. The typical Mexican Salsa Picante is a simple dip made with tomato, onions, herbs and spices leaving an acidic and tangy flavour in the mouth. Drizzled with plentiful amount of cream as garnish with dried herb added the oomph to the plate.

For the other way, Nachos Baked Dish, we chose non-veg. The concoction of this version had nachos which were topped with chicken mini-chunks, jalapenos and corns, loaded with cheese and then baked until the cheese melted properly and reached all the possible corner of the platter. There is something absolutely succulent about the salsa picante, it makes you moreish.

Further, we tasted the PASTA and SHAKES !

White sauce or creamy pasta, is what I devout. Tasted the "Chicken Mushroom Sauce" penne pasta. The mushy pasta tossed in a classic mushroom based white sauce was delectable served with a portion of garlic loaf, garnished with fresh herbs.

Following that, shakes were well accompanied with pasta. Tried the "Rocky Road Shake" and the "Black Forest Shake". Yumm !! Both the shakes were dead tasty and we continued sipping till the last drop.

Rocky Road Shake - Made with chocolate ice cream, nuts, chocolate syrup and marshmallows had a variation of flavour. Smoothielicious !!

Black Forest Shake - Everyone likes a big portion of a black forest cake loaded with whipped cream and shredded chocolate and cherries. This shake was so delicious that I could feel the crumbs of the black forest cake. The over empowering taste of the kirsch was subtle and refined.

At last we tasted "Smoking Chick" Pizza. A thin base with mushrooms, bell peppers and onions, laden with cheese. It melted in the mouth. It had a perfect balance of flavours.

Summarizing, the Big Yellow Door ; it is budget friendly, extremely affordable and fulfills the craving of yummy cheesy food. The staff is jolly. They have a concept of a sticky note wall, where anyone can scribble anything on the sticky note and stick it on that wall. It also has a section which is decorated with painted stones of various cartoons. CuteThing.

This place is always over crowded and there is a waiting line which seems like never ending but patience is the virtue and you'll find a seat sooner or later, as per requirement.

WHERE QUALITY MEETS QUANTITY - #NOFILTERS, SDA

We'd be thinking a lot about trying this outlet since a month. And SDA never fails one's food craving at anytime of the day. One such cafe opened a few months back is #nofilters. This cafe & bar, at Safdarjung Development Area, opposite IIT Delhi is nothing less than an "adda" for foodies. serving everything hot and sumptuous, we started our food trail with their breakfast section

The #breakfast menu had a variety of British and Desi breakfast options. Doing the chocolate sin, we ordered Nutella Waffles. Served with extra nutella as a dip and mapple syrup to drizzle over the four beautiful triangular waffles. All in all the waffles was a good start for the day but the only flaw was the soggy waffle as it was not crispy. But with nine good things no one will keep that 1 bad thing in their heart.

POST THAT WE ORDERED -

"Jerk Chicken Sandwich"  Pulled chicken meat with BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese, served with mustard mayo and crispy cajun fries ! The sandwich was well grilled making in crispy on the outside and the well marinaded jerk chicken was tender and juicy on the inside. *YumYum*

Moving on, the next to try was "Butter Chicken Pasta"   Does it really need a description ? Ain't your mouth watering *dripdripdrip*

Not a big fan of red sauces when amalgamated with pasta but the butter chicken gravy used to toss the penne pasta had blown the mind away. Who can possibly think of an Italian staple food been prepared in a typical Punjabi main gravy. every mouthful of the pasta aroused us toward foodgasm.
Big chunks of chicken and the delicious gravy was a generous served for two. A big thumbs up !

The last to taste from the savoury section was the delectably crispy "Potato Wedges".  The garlic parmesan wedges were coated with garlic powder, spiced parmesan cheese along with assorted condiments. It was accompanied with a mint mayo dip.

Wow ! Usually, many a times we've all tried potato wedges and they turn out to be soggy or not fried till crispy. #nofilter has broken my record of best wedges ever. C-R-I-S-P-Y to literal sense.

The very last item was my personal favourite
DESSERTSSS !!

Over the variety of muggins and cakes, the manager of #nofilter recommended us to try their "Banoffee Pie" in the Jar.

The dessert pie made from bananas, cream and toffee from boiled condensed milk on the base of crumbled biscuits and butter was interesting in the spoon. The caramelized bananas were thinly sliced and the whipped cream was smooth and sweet. This dessert is highly recommended for those taking a break from chocolate indulgence.

To sum up, #nofilter has a friendly staff and the interior has a funky theme yet very interesting wall art. Overall, the food is amazing and the quantity is very generous. In true sense, great quality with sumptuous quantity.
Located in the front side at the SDA market, opposite IIT, Delhi, has a tranquil view with luscious green atmosphere.

If you miss out this place then sadly, your food journey is incomplete.
